HE Thant Sin Maung, Union Minister for Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) and U Maung Maung Oo, Director General for the Department of Marine Administration (DMA) received a courtesy call on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, the current non resident ambassador accredited by the Government of Panama as an official authority representing in Myanmar who also serves as consul general of the Republic of Panama HE Servio S. Samudio B. With the ambassador was attending by the Panamanian authorities Engineer Adrian Quiros, Maritime counselor.

In this meeting both official representatives agreed to work together on the unification of criteria and adaptation of strategies to follow up so that this collaboration is more successful, ensuring that the maritime industry of both countries is supported through an official representative office in the city of Yangon, Myanmar, in the coming weeks.

The representative office of the Panamanian Government will monitor, guarantee and issue all official documents for certificates of recognition that correspond to the Panama Maritime Authority in order for minimizing risk of fraud.
